2021 Volvo S60: Discreet, yet so Effective

Fewer sedans are being sold on the market as the trend is towards SUVs. This can be observed throughout the industry. However, just because there are fewer models available doesn't mean that quality has gone out the window. On the contrary, only the best creations have survived the cut. At Volvo, one of them is the Volvo S60 sedan, a car whose incredible discretion is matched only by its equally incredible efficiency.

Volvo Laval, near Terrebonne, Saint-Eustache, Sainte-Thérèse, Boisbriand and only minutes from Montreal, presents you the Volvo family sedan. Visit your local dealer in Laval to lease or buy a new Volvo model or choose from our pre-owned Volvo vehicles.

    Volvo S60: Elegant and Beautiful

The sedans offered by Volvo have always been very distinctive. The company's design department has managed to do things differently, albeit with great elegance. On the market since 2019, the 2021 Volvo S60 exudes nobility with clean curves, beautiful proportions, and that Volvo grille that everyone identifies with eyes closed.

There are several versions of the S60 in the catalogue: the Momentum version, the Inscription version, as well as the R-Design livery. That's for the gasoline models. Don't forget that it's also available in a plug-in hybrid configuration, the Recharge. This time, the trim levels are called R-Design and Polestar Engineered

Regardless of the variant, the level of equipment is complete and reflects the model's price. The value is quite enviable in this regard. As for safety, let's remember what we're talking about; Volvo has always been a leader in this area.

The Volvo S60 can be equipped with different versions of the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that serves the company's models. Many were critical of Volvo when it turned to this original solution, but time has proven them right; the block has shown itself to be reliable and when it comes to efficiency and performance, the score is perfect.

To begin with, a first version offers 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. You can get it with the T5 front-wheel drive variant. Otherwise, the all-wheel drive is included. With the R-Design model, you get a chassis with sportier settings. When you like to push the machine a little further, it's hard to ask for more!

Otherwise, you can always turn to the T8 models, which are served by a more powerful version of the same engine, at all levels. Power is boosted to 400 horsepower thanks to a combination of turbocharging and supercharging, in addition to the contribution of the electric block. With the Polestar model, that figure jumps to 415 horsepower. Total torque is 472 lb-ft and 494 lb-ft respectively.

With the hybrid version, an all-electric range of between 30 and 35 kilometres awaits us, which substantially reduces fuel costs

And the beauty of it all is that it all comes together very smoothly. The eight-speed automatic transmission that serves the model does an exemplary job

When you're behind the wheel, comfort prevails, but when you need dynamic behaviour, the Volvo S60 is there to provide it. In fact, it’s pretty much impossible to fault this Volvo.

In closing, a few words about the interior, which is one of the strengths of this car. From the driver's seat, the presentation is very well done, and the sleek styling is instantly appealing. Volvo's multimedia system is a delight to use and proves to be one of the most complete in the industry. And what about the comfort of the front seats? Simply divine. In a Volvo S60, you just want to keep going.
